They might be mosquitoes but they sting like bees.
The Hamilton Cardinals Minor Mosquito Tier 1 team went undefeated through five games at the Brantford Tournament (July 16-18), outscoring their opponents 50-9 to claim the championship.
The Cards entered the tourney on a high note, having gone unbeaten in Intercounty Baseball Association league action over 16 games and outscoring their opposition average 13-3.

Will it be Toronto or Brantford?
Going into Monday night’s senior Intercounty Baseball League game against the Guelph Royals, the Hamilton Thunderbirds knew they had the eighth and final playoff SPOT. So the 7-4 loss they were handed in Guelph had no impact on their post-season plans. But who they will meet in the first round remains undecided. It will be either the Brantford Red Sox or the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the club has named Randy Cunneyworth as Head Coach and Randy Ladouceur as Assistant Coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs. Cunneyworth will be the ninth head coach in franchise history.
“We were looking for a strong leader to coach our farm team in Hamilton. In Randy Cunneyworth, we get an individual who knows the game inside-out and who brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach, to the table. Together, Randy Cunneyworth and Randy Ladouceur combine for over 20 years of coaching experience at the professional level. We are extremely pleased that they have joined the Canadiens’ organization”, said Gauthier.

Andrew Ranger continued his mastery of road courses, taking the Jumpstart 100 Saturday in the first visit for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 to the Toronto street course.
Hamilton’s Don Thomson placed fourth and stand fifth overall in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series.
Saturday’s checkered flag was the 10th career series win and seventh on a road course for Ranger. The two-time series champion, who is not running for the title this year, has also captured a pair of road course wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in the last month.

Twenty four talented men rolled 31 perfect 300 games in the 2009-10 tenpin season.
In the third week of the season, Jayme Allen was the first 300 shooter and, in the last week, Bill Lishinski fired No. 31, both the second of their careers. Doug Schatz and Travis Cauley each recorded three perfectos while Art Oliver Jr., Earl England and Sean Patterson notched a pair. With one perfect game each were Lionel Lewis Jr., Deric Curley, Corey Davies, Bill Cardwell, Aaron Bouchard, Richard Parker, Chris King, Ron McKinnon, Randy Park, Ted Ranger, Ron McGuigan, Ryan Dickenson, Mike Howard, John Cherriere, Mick Anderer, Josh Colwell and Scott Hureau.
